ΕΣΠΕΡΙΝΟΣ ΚΥΡΙΑΚΗΣ ΙΔ ́ (Β ́ ΛΟΥΚΑ) - Vespers of the Second Sunday of Luke - St.Kyriakos the Anchorite the Wonderworker (5th-6th century)
Members of the Russian expatriot community in Cyprus attend this parish.St.Kyriakos was born and raised in Corinth,Greece.At the age of 17,he was inspired to set sail for Jerusalem,and spent the rest of his life in Palestine.Eventually he was ordained priest and served in various monasteries in Palestine.At one point,he spent 10 years in silence in the cave of Chariton.He had the gift of healing and was also a visionary,seeing the Most Holy Theotokos,who encouraged him in his struggle against the Origenist heresy.He died in his beloved cave at the age of 109.
