Live: National Day Celebration 2024 | Midshipman Princess Leonor with King Felipe and Queen Consort Letizia

12 OCT 2024 The solemn celebrations of the Spanish National Day were observed in the Spanish Capital Madrid.They were presided by HM King Felipe VI,HRH Princesa Leonor de Asturias,the Crown Princess of Spain,and HM Queen Consort Letizia.Princesa Leonor's surname,which she shares with her father,is de Borbon y Ortiz.She has a beautiful blue flag and a coat of arms.She will be only the second regnant queen in Spanish history,after Queen Isabella II in the nineteenth century.She is currently a Midshipman at the Spanish Naval Academy at Marin,Pontevedra,Spain.She will complete her military training next year with the Spanish Air Force.Her training is aimed at preparing her for her future role as head of the Spanish Armed Forces.In her regnancy and military service she resembles the late Queen Elizabeth II.

In a solemn military ceremony at his alma mater the Academia Militar de Zaragoza,HM King Felipe VI,accompanied by Queen Letizia, renewed his pledge of allegiance to the Spanish flag and kissed it again as he did with his classmates 40 years ago.Also on hand was his daughter,Her Royal Highness Princesa Leonor de Asturias,18,who was noted among the Academia's cadets and posed for a photo with her parents.She is heir to the Spanish throne,who will be the first regnant queen of Spain since Isabella II in the 19th century,and only the second regnant queen in Spanish history.Princesa Leonor has her own beautiful blue flag.So her destiny is similar to Queen Elizabeth II's.Her surname is de Borbon y Ortiz.
