Orthodox Monastery of Saint John the Russian | Pefkohori - Halkidiki GREECE
St.John the Russian was actually from what is today Ukraine,born in about 1860.He was taken prisoner and enslaved by the Turks during the Russo-Turkish war.The son of Orthodox Christians,he lived in his master's humble stable with the animals.Nonetheless,he was a wonderworker both in this life and the next.This monastery has one of his relics,which are incorrupt.The rest of his body is kept in the Church of St.John the Russian in Prokopi,Evia,Greece.
