On 26 NOV 2024,His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew visited the newly-built Church of the new Orthodox Saint,St.Ananias Lampardis,Ethno-Hieromartyr who was Metropolitan of Lacedaemonia.The Church was built near the Administration Centre of the Regional Unit of Laconia.HAH lit a sacred oil lamp in the Church to mark the occasion.The visit was made under tight security.The hymns during the ceremony were chanted well by the Byzantine Music School Petros the Lacedaemonian of the Holy Metropolis of Monemvasia and Sparta,Greece,under the direction of the Head of School and Protopsaltis of the Metropolitan Church of Panangia Evangelistria of Sparta,Mr.Panagiotis Chronis.*In his brief address,His Eminence Metropolitan Efstathios of Momemvasia and Sparta thanked HAH for the decision to canonise the saint by the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate on 14 JUN 2022.In response,HAH noted that it is a blessing of God that new saints exist in the Orthodox Church.*Children of Geraki presented HAH with symbolic gifts from their village.As well,a placque commemorating HAHs' visit was unveiled in the courtyard of the Church and an olive tree was planted by HAH,the Green Patriarch.*Panagiotate:Your All-Holiness*Material by The Orthodox Times
