Parish feast and 180th anniversary of St. Alypios’ church in Antalya
His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presided at services for the patronal saint of St.Alypios parish,St.Alypios the Stylite of Adrianopolis,Asia Minor,Turkey,who spent most of his life atop a pillar (5th-6th century) and was much sought after as an elder by the faithful.The Holy Metropolis of Pisidia has a Russian-speaking flock.*Antalya is the capital city of Antalya Province,which is flanked by the Taurus Mountains.The city has 2.6 million people in its metropolitan area and is the fifth most populous city in Turkey.*Metropolitan Job is a Canadian of Ukrainian descent.*St.Alypios' day is 26 November.
